Bongo Balero
Bongo Balero are Nicky Andrews and Richard Durnford. They have spent the last 11 years perfecting their own unique style of circus and have toured their work in venues and festivals worldwide. The Penny and Bernie show is their popular cabaret act that features a seasoned husband and wife acrobatic double act who have performed their act many, many times over many years.

Helen Finch
Helen’s work uses aerial rope fused with the grace & flow of dance. Using strong visual images we watch our soloist move on her rope, through these, on her journey.
She works as a soloist & is half of duo Cirq-U. An experienced aerialist she featured in the ensemble rope act that played the ‘Friedrichstadtpalast’, Berlin. As well as Corporate Galas, she has worked with companies including No Fit State, Giffords, Cirque Bijou and Bright FX. |

Layla Rosa
Layla Rosa is an aerialist, visual artist and founder member of the performance collective Shunt, she is showcasing an extract from her work in progress What if…?.
A performance installation that explores personal questions of a real and fantasized identity, veiling and being caught in between…a rock and a harem. The piece uses the moving image, aerial movement, video projection and audio installation to create stunning optical effects, atmospheres and theatrical illusion. |

Is there an opposite of gravity? And if so, what effect would it have? In Levity we explore a time before the laws of physics had been fixed, a place where Gravity was the shadow of Levity.
“The Moth That God Made Blind” is a duet on two suspended ropes. Inspired by poetry of Sylvia Plath, along with Max Richter’s musical backgrounds, it features a fine balance of aerial acrobatics and elements of Corporeal Mime. |

Matilda Leyser
Lifeline is part of the full length piece ‘Line, Point, Plane’. In Lifeline, a single rope hangs in space: a life unfolds along it from childhood through maturity to old age. Lifeline is a duet between a woman and a rope - the rope supports her, it is her literal lifeline as she grips onto it or is gripped by it, until she reaches its end - the point where the line of the life, the rope, runs out.

Ockham’s Razor

Combining their experiences within circus, dance and film, Tanya Scully and Helen Finch collaborate on this new work on a specially designed aerial frame.
Two women, within the framework of their individual lives meet. Stepping towards the unknown, out of the boundaries of their familiar space. As the drama unfolds we see the risks they take in trusting each other as they seek a balance and equality in a place where their feet are no longer on the floor.

This act is performed by Richard Durnford and has been directed by both himself and Nikki Andrews. It is a contemporary circus style act of strength and grace that builds to a daredevil handstand on the top of the pole- a heart in the mouth act!
Richard’s first solo act had features in work with No Fit State, Impact Artists, Cirque Bijou, and most recently as part of The Circus Space project Hotel. |

Former Mechanical engineer, Sebastien Valade has recently completed the training program of Circomedia ( Britain ’s Academy of Contemporary Circus and Physical Theatre), specialising in Physical Theatre (under the tuition of Bim Mason) and Equilibristic and Manipulation (Rod Laver).

Tanya Scully
Tanya has extensive experience of international performing, ranging from Circuses and Variete through to cutting edge aerial dance work for film. (Channel 4 Dance4film and Arte).
This piece takes you on a mesmerising journey, starting entwined at the top of the rope and eventually touching the ground.

Tim Lenkiewicz
Minor Swing is the fruit of months of work searching for choreography and combinations. It is the result of personal research into the notion of the showman and a cabaret/ variety for today’s taste. With a little initial choreographic help from Briony Plant, and influences ranging from Sweden’s Cirkus Cirkor to the inimitable Francis Brun, Tim Lenkeiwicz has createda quirky and original act that is both traditional in its essence and modern in its style and execution.
Since December 2005, minor swing had been performed in various situations in theatre, tents and cabaret clubs around the UK.
