Welcome to Jeunes Talents Cirque Europe


What is it?

* A support programme for emerging contemporary circus artists in Europe aimed at assisting artistic research for the creation of new performance. We encourage projects that mix circus with other art forms, for example drama, spoken word, digital media, theatre, music and puppetry.

Who can apply?

* We encourage artists with diverse practice, this includes, but is not limited to, artists from Black and minority ethnic backgrounds and disabled people.
* There is no age limit
* Performances that have already been created are not eligible
* You must be resident in Europe
* You cannot currently be training in a circus school
* Applicants can be solo or as a group
* A formal company is not required

Circus Futures is now calling for applications from UK based artists. If you are interested we want to hear from you. We can offer guidance and advice in the application process.

Important Dates:

2nd July: Launch as part of the Circus Space Residency at the National Theatre's Watch This Space, 11.30am-1pm. To attend e-mail verena@circusfutures.org

The selection process:

Applications will be read by a panel of European partners. Up to 10 UK based projects will be chosen to give a presentation to a Jury on the 15 & 16th February 2010 at Stratford Circus. Following Europe-wide presentations up to 10 projects will be chosen to receive financial support and guidance. The resulting work will be showcased in Autumn 2010.
